While you can let this serve as a reminder that Mother’s Day is May 11, please let me also remind you, as any good mother would, about another matter (no, not the clean underwear thing):

The cost of a one-ounce First-Class stamp will increase from 41 to 42 cents on May 12.

And while we’re on the subject … don’t forget that prices for other mailing services, such as Standard Mail, Periodicals, Package Services (including single-piece Parcel Post) and Special Services will also change. New prices include:

• Two-ounce First Class Letter now 59 cents (up one penny)
• Postcard now 27 cents (up one penny)
• Large two-ounce Envelope now $1.00 (up three cents)
• First Class Mail International Letter (One ounce to Canada and Mexico) now 72 cents (up three cents)
• First Class Mail International Letter (One ounce to other countries) now 94 cents (up four cents)
